Fifteenth Amendment

Black suffrage
Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
Section 2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

What does this mean?
The fifteenth amendment is th eamendment that gave all citizens the right to vote no matter race or color.


Why this picture?
Though it is a cartoon image it correclty depicts teh 15th amendment, which is allowing all citizens to vote no matter black or white.
